With an ultracompact size, the Blackmagic Design Videohub Mini 8x4 12G Router is the ultimate device for live production flexibility. This professional-grade mini router features eight 12G-SDI inputs, eight 12G-SDI loop outputs, and four 12G-SDI outputs on its back panel—all within a remarkably small footprint. Control can be achieved using the front push buttons, knob, or via Ethernet for automated routing. Additionally, the front panel includes a 12G-SDI input and output plus a USB-C output that overrides the back panel ports for quick source routing. The USB-C output registers as a webcam for direct live streaming from your computer. Dedicated reference I/O ports allow the clean switch function to lock to a Blackburst or Tri-sync signal.

Add inputs to ATEM switchers, streaming encoders, HyperDeck recorders, or video monitors with ease. Routers eliminate the need for manual cable patching mid-production, offering on-the-fly front panel connections for emergencies or last-minute gear additions.

Front Panel Router Control & Video Patching

Its front panel provides intuitive, fast, cut-bus-style switching with dedicated buttons for outputs and inputs. Simply select a destination button, then press the source button to complete the route. Front panel SDI ports allow quick patching of external gear, with front inputs overriding the highest-numbered rear input. The integrated USB-C webcam output supports computer-based recording, video scopes, or streaming software.

Advanced 12G-SDI Connections

Each Videohub Mini model supports advanced 12G-SDI multirate connections for SD, HD, and UHD video up to 2160p60. This ensures compatibility across SDI formats, including SD, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI. The router can handle mixed video standards simultaneously, automatically switching output standards to match your connected gear.

Clean Switch on Each Video Output

All outputs feature a “clean switch” for stable transitions when changing sources. Because it operates per output, you can choose where re-syncing occurs—ideal for preventing extra frames on recorders while ensuring seamless switches for monitors or streaming encoders. The clean switch locks to the reference input for precise synchronization.

Full SDI Re-Clocking

Each 12G-SDI input includes built-in SDI re-clocking to regenerate video signals and maintain integrity over long cable runs. This enhances jitter performance and prevents video dropouts, ensuring optimal image quality throughout your signal chain.

Front Panel Emergency Patch Connections

Front-facing 12G-SDI patch connectors provide direct video access for quick troubleshooting or last-minute gear additions. The front 12G-SDI input automatically overrides the highest-numbered rear input, while the front output mirrors the router’s highest-numbered output for convenient access.

USB Webcam Output

The router’s front USB-C port doubles as an HD webcam output, enabling direct live streaming from SDI sources. It supports 1080p output and automatic down-conversion from UHD if needed, providing compatibility with platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, OBS, and XSplit Broadcaster.

Remote and Hardware Control

Integrate the router into your setup using the Videohub Software or a Master Control Pro panel for both hardware and remote control.
