7K Full-Frame CMOS Sensor

Featuring a 7K back-illuminated full-frame CMOS sensor, the C50 offers stunning low-noise performance and high dynamic range, even in challenging lighting conditions. Oversampled 4K output ensures cleaner images and greater flexibility in post-production.

3:2 Open Gate Sensor Mode

For the first time in Canon’s Cinema EOS line, the C50 introduces Open Gate recording, utilizing the full sensor area for creative freedom. This allows filmmakers to crop or reframe footage in post-production and is ideal for anamorphic shooting workflows.

Internal RAW and High Frame Rate Recording

The C50 supports 7K60 Cinema RAW Light with 12-bit HQ, ST, and LT recording modes. For smoother motion and precise detail, the camera also captures XF-AVC 10-bit 4:2:2 footage up to 4K120 and 2K180. Additional codec options, including XF-AVC S and XF-HEVC S, simplify post workflows with metadata and organized folder structures.
