In this Canon EOS C700 GS PL 19mm ARRI Pro Set, Canon pairs the EOS C700 GS Cinema Camera, with PL Mount, and the ARRI Cine 19mm Pro Support Set. This version of the C700 features a global shutter, a PL lens mount, a 4.2K CMOS image sensor, 14 stops of dynamic range, and the EVF-V70 OLED viewfinder. Not only is the PL lens mount compatible with a range of cine-style lenses, its Cooke /i Technology interface provides metadata when used with compatible lenses. This C700 sensor's global shutter captures distortion-free sports and other fast-moving action footage. With 4K recording at 60p to CFast 2.0 cards, and 2K/HD up to 240 fps, the C700 is primed for 4K and HDR productions.
The included Canon EOS C700 GS PL 19mm ARRI Pro Set provides a variety of cine-style support components, each featuring ARRI build-quality and ergonomics. The camera adapter plate offers quick mounting with the included BP-8 studio bridge plate, and with VCT-style plates. Various camera accessory–mounting options include 19mm studio and 15mm lightweight rods, 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threaded points, and standard ARRI rosettes. An ARRI viewfinder bracket provides a quick release mount for more comfortable viewing of the Canon EVF.
The C700 included in the Canon EOS C700 GS PL 19mm ARRI Pro Set is capable of 4K recording at 60p to CFast 2.0 cards using the XF-AVC format. Also available are Apple's well-regarded ProRes formats for direct-to-edit workflows. Raw recording is another possibility through Canon's separately available Codex Digital Recorder which simply clips onto the rear of the C700's modular design. While the C700 is a fairly advanced piece of equipment, Canon has implemented a familiar user interface. Most basic functions can be accessed through the six buttons surrounding the screen. More advanced settings can be found using the simple selection dial and set buttons.
- A 12-pin lens connection enables remote control of a compatible lens's focus, zoom, and iris functions, similar to that of a broadcast lens.
- Canon UN-5 Unit Cable allows you to connect the Canon LM-V1 4" LCD Monitor to the Canon EOS C200, C300 Mark II, and C700 cameras.
- The viewfinder and monitoring outputs will display a translucent area around the image that is being recorded.
