Modern Panavise MAG CLAMP

The Panavise Model 376 has been used by grips in the movie business as a Mag, or "Magazine" clamp for many years now. It lends itself for that use because of it's 5/8" pin, which is the standard size mounting diameter for just about everything in the grip's world. "5/8" is synonymous with the term "baby".

The Panavise jaws can be con figured to spread from full close to 5.5 inches or 3" to 9"...making the clamp much more versatile.

When cameras are mounted on cars or any moving object, attaching them by the base only is not enough. Resonate and harmonic vibration can and will occur and the best way to remove it is by triangulating the camera's load. The best way of doing that is by using a gobo arm and attaching it to the car's camera mount base and the top of the camera...and on film cameras, that would be the film magazine. The Panavise's jaws clamp around the mag and the grip head or gobo arm attaches to the 5/8" round post aka "Baby Pin."
