The OWC 240GB Aura Pro 6G SSD for MacBook Air 2012 Edition supports 6Gbps SATA and utilizes enhanced DuraClass technology with a SandForce processor to deliver high transfer speeds, endurance, performance, and power efficiency. The SSD has 256GB total flash memory with 16GB memory allocated for real-time data redundancy and error correction.

The Aura Pro 6G SSD features RAISE (Redundant Array of Independent Silicon Elements) technology along with ECC protection to protect data on your drive. An intelligent block management and wear leveling system evenly distributes the data over the drive. Furthermore, an intelligent read disturb management spreads the active read/write, eliminating data corruption.

Advanced intelligent recycling ensures space management by re-writing the data over the Solid State Drive. In order to achieve the higher bandwidth potential of the SATA 6 Gbps bus standard, the Aura Pro 6G SSD utilizes Tier-1 Synchronous NAND instead of the commonly-utilized Asynchronous NAND. Synchronous NAND enables reads and writes to be "synced" with the Solid State Drive processor's clock signal for maximum data throughput.
