The OWC Mercury Elite Pro Quad 48TB 4-Bay USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 RAID Array (4 x 12TB) is compatible with the Mercury Elite Pro Quad 48TB 4-Bay USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 RAID Array from Other World Computing/OWC. The SoftRAID included with your purchase is preconfigured as RAID 5. 48TB is enough space for music, photos, movies and documents. Transfers up to 947 MB/s with the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Quad 48TB 4-Bay USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 RAID Array (4 x 12TB).

Within the array are four SATA III drive bays that can each house a single 3.5 or 2.5" drive using the included drive brackets. Each drive bay has a 12TB 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" hard drive. The array is software-configured as RAID 5, which provides a good balance of performance and redundancy. It can be configured as RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 4, and 5, each of which provides performance, data redundancy, or both.

This volume will be recognized on systems running macOS 10.6 and later as well as Windows 7 and later. Connectivity to your host system is achieved using an integrated 10 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, and both USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables are included to help ensure compatibility with modern and legacy systems. To help ensure a smooth operating environment, the array is built using heat-dissipating aluminum, uses a cooling fan, and its included 100-240 VAC power supply runs at 50/60 Hz to help ensure worldwide compatibility. Also included is a power cable and two front panel keys.

Note:

SoftRAID XT works with macOS 10.14 or later, Windows 10 or later, and Windows Server 2019/2022. M1 Macs require macOS 11.3 or later and SoftRAID is licensed per computer. Also, RAID 1+0 (10) only work with Mac at this time.

If your computer doesn't feature USB-C connectivity, the included USB-C to USB-A cable brings backward compatibility for machines with legacy USB ports.
