The 4x4 Schneider Optics 85 Color Combination Filters convert Type B Tungsten Color Negative film to Daylight Balance and add neutral density. Using 100 ISO as the benchmark, The 85 filter has a 1/3 stop loss, thus 100 ISO film yields an effective ISO rating of 64. An 85N3 (1 & 1/3 stop loss) yields 32 ISO, an 85N6 (2 & 1/3 stop loss) yields 16 ISO, an 85N9 (3 & 1/3 stop loss) yields 8 ISO and the 85N1.2 (4 & 1/3 stop loss) yields 4 ISO.
The 85ND Series is the most used combination filter in the motion picture industry since tungsten balanced film (3200K) is used more than daylight balanced film.
