Tiffen 77mm Ultra Contrast 1/8 Filter

The Tiffen 77mm Ultra Contrast 1/8 Filter is to add bowtie-shaped flaring around bright objects, photographing an image with this filter will yield low contrast while recording video will achieve the same effect in real-time. The ambient illumination is dispersed into darker areas of the scene, spreading the tonal range of highlights and shadows from a contrasting scene. Shadow detail is increased while flare and halation around highlights are decreased with the Tiffen 77mm Ultra Contrast 1/8 Filter.

This filter has a grade of 1/8. Grades of 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are also available where this filter type's effect becomes approximately twice as strong with each grade number increase.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.
