The Matthews Open End Single Scrim (Black Bobinett, 12 x 18") gives the artist total creative control of precise light reduction for the area. Made from a sturdy stainless frame of metal, the Open End Scrim is fitted with one layer of Black Bobinett lighting control fabric with the Matthews Open End Single Scrim (Black Bobinett, 12 x 18").

This specific frame is equipped with a single layer of Black Bobinett fabric, which reduces the effective illumination of the selected area by 1/2 stop. This is indicated by the green fabric which lines the frame. Light reduction strength can be finely tuned by rotating the scrim, thus increasing the amount of netting light needs to pass through before hitting the subject. All Matthews Open End Scrims are constructed from rigid stainless steel and sport a 3/8" pin for rigging to standard grip heads, with an integrated support that can be used to hang the scrim from a C-stand handle when not in use. A nearly invisible length of piano wire is strung across the open side of the frame in order to effectively modify light by keeping the fabric taught without casting any additional shadows.
