Nikon 95mm Circular Polarizer Filter II

The Nikon 95mm Circular Polarizer Filter II reduces reflections and glare by filtering out light that’s become polarised due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. Sunlight, for example, naturally becomes partially polarized as it reflects off electrons in air molecules and scatters in all directions. This Nikon 95mm Circular Polarizer Filter II light, though, can be arranged, and filtered, by a polarising filter to be absorbed if it’s directionally polarised perpendicularly to the reflected light, as it is in the example above. With much of this light absorbed, not only is there less glare and reflection from non-metallic surfaces, but skies and foliage also look more saturated.

A circular polarizer only differs from a linear polarizer in that it contains a quarter wave plane in addition to the linear polarizing filter. The addition of this quarter wave plane is to circularly polarize the linearly polarized light for the use of auto focus and exposure functions. Due to how the light is broken down and filtered with a linear polarizer, auto focus and exposure accuracy become skewed during use. When the light becomes circularly polarized, it permits the use of these functions.
