The OWC Mercury Elite Pro Quad 8TB 4-Bay USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C RAID Array (4 x 2TB) is preconfigured as RAID 0 via included SoftRAID XT Lite software. 8TB also provides you with plenty of space to store files such as music, photos, movies, and documents. This array provides sequential compressible read speeds of up to 702 MB/s, sequential compressible write speeds of up to 740 MB/s, sequential incompressible read speeds of up to 665 MB/s, and sequential incompressible write speeds of up to 678 MB/s.

Within the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Quad RAID Array are four SATA III drive bays that can each house a single 3.5" or 2.5" drive using included drive brackets. Each drive bay has a 2TB 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" hard drive, each of which has a 64MB cache, for a total system cache of 256MB. While the array is software-configured as RAID 0, it can also be configured as RAID 1, which offers 1:1 data redundancy at a cost of 50% of the total storage capacity. As a RAID 0 volume, users will benefit from increased read and write speeds, but no data redundancy.

This volume will be recognized on systems running macOS 10.6 and later, as well as Windows 7 and later. Connectivity to your host system is achieved using an integrated 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, and both USB Type-C to Type-C and USB Type-C to Type-A cables are included to help ensure compatibility with modern and legacy systems. To help ensure a smooth operating environment, the array is built using heat-dissipating aluminum, uses a cooling fan, and its included 100-240 VAC power supply runs at 50/60 Hz to help ensure worldwide compatibility. Also included is a power cable and two front panel keys.
