The RED Digital Cinema V-Raptor 8K VV with Locking RF Mount is the first camera to be released on the new DSMC3 platform. The RED V-Raptor's name is attributed to both the camera and the sensor itself which is a completely new 35.4 Megapixel VV CMOS Sensor with PDAF and 17+ stops of dynamic range. The V-Raptor is capable of ultra fast high-speed imaging by recording 8K 17:9 at 120fps, 4K 17:9 at 240fps and 2K 2.40:1 at 600fps. The V-Raptor's sensor is what RED is referring to as a Multi-format sensor that can be used in 8K VV, 6K S35, 3K S16, and anamorphic while recording in R3D and ProRes formats. The RED V-Raptor has a new, smaller form factor than DSMC2 and is only a slightly larger footprint than the RED Komodo. The new design offers better cooling with larger vents and a larger fan. New to this camera is the recording media, you can now use CFExpress for high frame rates on standardized media.

Truth In Numbers
Big theoretical performance numbers are certainly eye catchers, but they are misleading when your workflow requires real world speed. That's why OWC takes the extra time to run OWC flash storage solutions through intensive performance testing, and they share their test setup and parameters. Truthfully listing Atlas Ultra CFexpress cards for reliable peak performance with reads up to 1700 MB/s, writes up to 1500 MB/s, and sustained writes of 1300 MB/s define their commitment to the "OWC Difference," which ensures these CFexpress Type B cards will deliver the performance you are counting on.
The OWC Atlas FXR Thunderbolt CFexpress Type B Card Reader makes it highly portable, allowing you to take it anywhere from the studio to on-location shoots. Featuring a CFexpress Type B card slot, it connects to your Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Chrome systems through an integrated 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 port, enabling lightning-fast data transfers of up to 1600 MB/s. If you don't have Thunderbolt 3, the port is backward compatible with 10 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, offering data transfer speeds of up to 900 MB/s. This OWC Atlas FXR Thunderbolt CFexpress Type B Card Reader is bus powered, plug-and-play compatible, and comes with non-skid rubber feet to ensure stability. It also includes a Thunderbolt 3 cable with a tethered USB-C to USB-A adapter for added convenience.
Revolutionize Your Capture to Ingest Workflow
The Atlas FXR will revolutionize your capture to ingest workflow with flexible compatibility, Xtreme speed, and travel-ready convenience. Now, you can transfer video footage and photos on location, in the studio, or in the edit suite to virtually any Thunderbolt or USB port equipped computer or tablet at speeds up to 1600 MB/s. By taking full advantage of the high-performance potential of CFexpress Type B cards, like the OWC Atlas line, this card reader will maximize your creative time by letting you offload far faster than downloading from camera to computer.
Maximizes Creative Time
Having an efficient workflow is a must in order maximize your creative time. The Atlas FXR eliminates productivity slowdown when transferring content to/from your computer. It "eats up" data at 1.6 GB/s (1600 MB/s), which means you can transfer 100 photos averaging 25MB in size in less than 1.6 seconds.
Minuscule Yet Mighty
Sized similarly to a debit card, the Atlas FXR is the smallest Thunderbolt CFexpress Type B card reader on the market. Nearly 7x smaller than other Thunderbolt CFexpress readers, the Atlas FXR easily fits into the smallest camera bag, so you can pack more accessories to help capture incredible content. You can also pair this minuscule reader with a USB-C or Thunderbolt-equipped iPad or a USB-C Android tablet to create a super lightweight yet mightily powerful capture and edit solution.
Travel and Daisy Chain Ready
When you need a CFexpress Type B card reader that simply works virtually anywhere with a wide range of devices, the Atlas FXR is the plug-and-play solution. It's bus-powered via the included Thunderbolt cable with a tethered USB-A adapter, so you don't need to lug around a bulky power supply or be handcuffed to an AC outlet. Its bus-powered, single-port design also makes it perfect for use at the end of a daisy-chain when you are back on a desktop editing 8K raw video.
