Sony ECM-VG1 Short Shotgun Microphone

The Sony ECM-VG1 Short Shotgun Microphone is an ultralightweight, smooth tone shotgun mic that offers strong, clean output signal for event video shoots, indie film production, TV and documentary shooting, court room depositions, and more. Plus, at a mere 2.3 ounces, it can be placed atop a camcorder or mounted on a boompole with virtually no impact on the weight of the rig.

The ECM-VG1 features a supercardioid polar pattern for excellent directivity and minimal noise at the off-axis sections of the capsule, resulting in intelligible voice pickup even in noisy environments. The microphone's wide, flat frequency response yields natural, accurate signal reproduction with crisp detail and minimal coloration.

The ECM-VG1 runs on 40 to 52 VDC phantom power, making it compatible with a variety of professional camcorders, multitrack field recorders, and portable audio recorders. The supplied furry windshield delivers up to 20 dB of wind noise reduction for high-quality audio capture in outdoor environments. It also includes microphone spacers and a mic holder to accommodate camera-mount and stand-/boompole-mount configurations.
