Questions about this product?
  • 77mm Black and Regular Pro-Mist Filters 1/8-3
  • Soften excess sharpness and contrast
  • Creates pearlescent glow around highlights
  • Great for portraits and landscapes
  • Highlight flares are controlled
  • Diffuse hard edges

The Tiffen 77mm Black and Regular (White) Pro-Mist Filters 1/8-3 are used to diffuse hard edges, reduce wrinkles in skin, and soften pastoral settings, rendering a mist look while minimizing light flare. Available in strengths of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, and 3.

Pro-Mist - Most popular motion picture effect.  Creates special "atmosphere" by softening excess sharpness and contrast; creates pearlescent glow around highlights.  Great for portraits and landscapes. Available in several grades.

Black Pro-Mist - Similar characteristics to Pro-Mist, providing a more subtle effect. Less lightening of shadows and less reduction of contrast. Available in several grades.

When used with digital video cameras, the lighter strengths like 1/8 through 1/2 help reduce the sharpness normally associated with video and yields a 'film look' to the image. These filters are our best selling 'film-look' filters.

Note- when shooting scenics and you are looking for that film-look, try the 1/8. Stronger strengths may yield a muddy look.

As always, do as the pros do... Test, test, test.
