The Zacuto Z-Finder Recoil Kit for Sony FS5 is compatible with the Sony FS5 camera and is made to extend your Sony grip. When purchasing the Zacuto Z-Finder Recoil kit for Sony FS5, you will receive the VCT Pro Baseplate, the FS5 Grip Relocator for the Sony FS5 handgrip, a 13.5" LANC extension cable, the FS5 Top Plate with 3" F/F rod, and the Zacuto FS5 Z-Finder. The VCT Pro Baseplate has a sliding top plate for quickly removing the camera from the rig or fast length changes. It also has a built-in, curved shoulder pad, a V-wedge tripod connector, a removable and extendable 6.5” iris rods and rows of 1/4"-20 screw holes along the sides for accessories. With quick release 15mm rod parts in the rear and recessed rod mount, this rig offers maximum accessory capable space under your camera lens.

The FS5 Grip Relocator features a rod cap and relocates the Sony grip to your hand for recoil shooting. It attaches to a single 15mm rod with a Zwivel mount that can be set at multiple different angles for comfort and ease of use. The relocator includes a 13.5" LANC extension cable.

The FS5 Top Plate is designed to fit around the camera top handle, as it gives you a side facing 15mm rod lock and multiple mounting screw holes. The FS5 Z-Finder comes with a flip-up frame designed to slide onto the FS5 LCD and a locking mount to attach to the top plate.

VCT Pro Baseplate

The Zacuto VCT Pro Baseplate features a built-in curved shoulder pad, an Arri M6 rosette, quick-release 6.5" rods and lightweight rod ports. The v-wedge tripod connector is compatible with the VCT14 tripod adapter plates or can be connected to your tripod quick release plate via the 1/4-20" and 3/8-16" screw holes. The Pro baseplate is compatible with all cameras including Canon EOS C-series, Sony FS4 and FS7, AJA CION, BlackMagic, RED cameras, Arri Alexa and Amira, DSLRs, Mirrorless and more.

The red sliding top plate offers easy adjust-ability for lens changes, removing your camera, and balancing your rig correctly on your shoulder. This sliding plate combined with a double screw track offers 10” of camera balance sliding range. You can quickly release your camera from the rig by sliding the red plate completely off and using our VCT Pro Dock to quickly transition it to a tripod, slider, etc.

The lightweight, adjustable rod mount is set far back in the plate, offering plenty of accessory-capable area under the camera lens. This allows you to position your camera further back on the plate, keeping the balance point of your rig directly over your shoulder. Rosette Grip Relocator

The Rosette Grip Relocator from Zacuto is a useful extension arm designed to relocate the grip of the Sony FS5 or Panasonic VariCam LT to a more comfortable position for the user. The rosette adapter easily connects to the camera and grip via four included screws and a standard M6 screw, and does not interfere with the remounting or functionality of the FS5 grip.

The grip is fully articulating via an integrated ball joint which is controlled by a quick release lever. A Z-Mount Zwivel 2 has also been incorporated into the arm in order to accept standard 15mm rods which may be adjusted to the required angle. It is important to note that the Relocator does not contain any electronic connections, and a separately sold LANC extension cable is required in order to maintain functionality of the FS5 grip.

FS5 Top Plate

Offering the ability to seamlessly integrate accessories into the FS5 shooting workflow, the FS5 Top Plate from Zacuto comprises a dedicated plate with a built-in 15mm side-facing rod lock to permit attaching various 15mm rod accessories to the camera. Included with the top plate is a separate 3"-long 15mm rod for mounting accessories, such as the FS5's LCD with attached Z-Finder. Both sides of the top plate also incorporate one 3/8"-16 and five 1/4"-20 threaded mounts, as well as custom-sized screw holes for relocating the Sony cable holder and film plane marker.

Sony FS5 Z-Finder Recoil Rig

Make your Sony FS5 a comfortable, ergonomic shoulder-mounted system with the Sony FS5 Z-Finder Recoil Rig from Zacuto. This kit bundles together a few essential pieces that will comprise a complete customizable rig for shooting.
