Zeiss Distagon T* 18mm F/3.5 ZF.2 Lens for Nikon F-Mount Cameras

The Zeiss 18mm f/3.5 Distagon T* Lens (with CPU) for Nikon ZF Mount by Carl Zeiss is an ultra wide angle prime lens that is ideal for capturing breathtaking moments in dramatic perspectives. The Distagon T* 18mm f/3.5 offers excellent image performance over the entire image field. The precision floating elements design offers constant high performance over the entire distance range from 0.3 m (0.98 ft) to infinity. Optimum reflection absorption combined with the Carl Zeiss T* anti-reflex coating allow for brilliant pictures even under difficult lighting conditions. Extremely contrasting edges are captured without color fringes due to the optimal color correction. Even combined with a digital SLR using a DX type sensor, this lens has an effective focal length of 27 mm, providing an interesting wide angle perspective. Above all, it is ideal for landscape, architecture and commercial photographers.

This Distagon T* 18mm f/3.5 lens has the Nikon ZF bayonet mount and includes a CPU that supports all key modes (e.g. aperture priority, shutter priority, program AE or manual exposure settings) on camera models equipped with an electronic interface (e.g. current Nikon DSLR cameras). To do so, simply lock the aperture ring in the largest f-stop (e.g. 16) shown in orange.
On camera models without an electronic interface, or when using an adapter ring for non ZF mount cameras the aperture is manually set on the lens aperture ring. With some camera models, it is possible to set in the menu whether the lens should be selected using the setting dial on the camera or the aperture ring on the lens. Please note that, for technical reasons, there is no halfway notch between the largest (e.g. 16) and second largest (e.g. 11) f-stop. The focused distance is not transmitted to the camera body.
